A new business-district corridor that had to be efficient and brilliantly lit from day one.
The Central Business District (CBD) in Lahore commissioned Crest LED to light Phase I of its Kalma Chowk landscaping scheme, a 1 to 2 km public corridor spanning pedestrian walkways and a multi-lane carriageway. The brief was to illuminate the full stretch to a high safety standard while holding running cost, heat, and maintenance to a minimum. Installation completed on 29 January 2024.
A flagship corridor with zero tolerance for waste, glare, or downtime.

As the public face of Lahore's new Central Business District, the Kalma Chowk corridor had to perform on every axis at once. A conventional HID street-lighting scheme could hit the brightness target, but at roughly double the energy draw, with high heat, frequent relamping on 12-metre poles, and a carbon profile at odds with the district's sustainability goals. Crest LED was engaged to deliver the full brief without those trade-offs.
The corridor looks outstanding at night, the energy and maintenance load is a fraction of what conventional lighting would have cost us, and the fittings simply keep running. Across performance, consumption, and upkeep, it has delivered exactly what we specified.
A two-tier optical scheme matched to pole height and road width.
Crest LED surveyed the full corridor before specifying a scheme that pairs two complementary luminaires, each tuned to its mounting height and the surface it has to light.
On 3-metre landscape and pedestrian poles we installed the 35W CR-C14-35W-STL with Type II optics for tight, even pathway distribution. Along the 12-metre carriageway poles, the 150W CR-C14-150W-STL with Type III optics throws light across the full road width. In total, 105 luminaires, 60 at 35W and 45 at 150W, cover the 1 to 2 km stretch.
Every fixture is IP66-sealed against dust and rain, runs at 4000K neutral white, and delivers 150 to 160 lm/W, pairing a rated life beyond 100,000 hours with the weather resistance an exposed outdoor corridor demands.

Half the energy, half the carbon, across a 1 to 2 km corridor.
The corridor's running profile was modelled against an equivalent conventional (HID) street-lighting scheme of the same coverage. On a like-for-like basis, the Crest LED design cuts both energy and carbon by half.
From a ≈ 17.7 kW conventional load to 8.85 kW.
The 105 LED luminaires draw a combined 8,850 W, roughly half the load of an equivalent HID corridor delivering the same brightness.
Half the carbon footprint, every operating hour.
Running 10 to 12 hours a night across the corridor, the LED scheme emits roughly half the CO₂ of the conventional alternative it replaced on the plan.
