LED Light bulb buying, namely, light fixtures are not obvious. It has hanging lamps, ceiling lamps, wall lamps, floor lamps, etc. For LED Bulb & lighting, there is a variety from which to make a choice. Below are 10 tips that you should take into account when you want to buy lamps.
1) Which lamp shape to choose?
There are many shapes of lamps: round, oval, square, rectangular, spherical.
The shape of the lamp must match your interior and furniture: a long lamp is best placed above a long table. this way the LED Light bulb is nicely distributed. The shape is less defining than a coffee table because one does not always need an optimum light distribution for this.
2) Which color of lighting should you choose?
When you want to buy lamps, it is best to take the color of the walls and the available decoration material into account. Black and white fit almost everywhere. Nowadays, many colors are available: rust or pink, for example, are very popular.
3) Which style of lighting fits my interior?
Your personal taste determines the style that you choose. Would you rather play with a classic fixture or would you rather take a little more risk with an industrial fixture? When buying lamps, it is important that they match the interior. A lamp that fits well in a different interior is therefore not always suitable for your home.
4) Buy lamps with a separate fitting or integrated LED modules?
Many luminaires are equipped with integrated LED modules. Although LED does not get as warm in the beam angle as, for example, a halogen lamp, it is very sensitive to heat. That is why good cooling is very important. A lamp that fits in a fitting (a so-called retrofit lamp) often has a limited size and cannot always be made larger. This means that the capacity is limited by its size. With an integrated LED module the chip can often handle a higher wattage, it has a higher light intensity and thanks to the good cooling, the lifespan is also much longer than with a retrofit lamp. This is very often used with recessed spots or rail spots, where power up to 40 or 50 W can be achieved. On the other hand, if you want a low power it can be practical to work with a retrofit lamp.
5) Lamp type: opt for mood lighting or main lighting?
When choosing your lamp type, you must first make a distinction between the main lighting (must ensure sufficient light in the room) and accent lighting (or mood lighting, (background lighting)).
A hanging lamp or ceiling lamp will often provide the main lighting while wall lamps or standing lamps provide mood lighting (there are also hanging lamps that give little light and are considered mood lighting).
6) In which room are the lamps placed: is it for kitchen lighting, living room lighting.
For lights & lighting Consider the light intensity according to the room in which the lamps are used before you purchase lamps. The lightest is needed in the kitchen and the bathroom, so you should use powerful or multiple lamps. In many cases, recessed spotlights are also hung here (especially above the kitchen countertop and stove) in combination with a hanging lamp above the table.
7) Online or physical store: when purchasing online: a member of a store quality mark?
Physical stores have the advantage that you can view the lamps. They sometimes also use a webshop as an extension. Online stores often also offer great promotions, so you can sometimes save money. Certainly, when you live in the area it can be useful to visit the physical store. Please note that when you proceed to buy lamps at a webshop, you always check whether they are members of a quality mark. A quality mark offers you the guarantee that the webshop is fully in line with the legislation. Moreover, they also mediate in disputes if necessary.
8) Lighting for outside or in the bathroom: pay attention to IP degree
For lights & lighting If your lamp is intended for outdoors or in a humid environment, it must be watertight. Waterproofing degree can check you are using the IP degree (the first digit gives the dust resistance, the second the water resistance. Usually a lamp in a humid environment IP44 (splash proof) or IP65 (spray tight).
9) Are the lamps dimmable or not?
Is your lamp dimmable? A dimmable LED Bulb can create an intimate atmosphere and that is appreciated by your guests. Nowadays, the most LED Light bulb is dimmable and work with most dimmers.
10) Buy direct vs indirect lighting
Direct lighting accentuates matters. Inside, for example, it can be a painting and outside can be the facade of your home that is highlighted in a certain form (think of a wall lamp with a triangle effect). With direct lighting, there is less spread of LED Light bulb. Indirect lighting is done by means of a matte cover at the bottom or by spotlights with a wide beam.
